The administration of our summer program is unique and flexible–essentially each summer associate creates his or her own professional experience with the guidance and assistance of our summer coordinators. Summer associates can work on projects from any department within the firm; many choose to work on matters in multiple departments.
Two associates–a litigator and a corporate associate –serve as full-time coordinators of the program. Their primary responsibility is to help each summer associate get a broad mix of work assignments in order to provide as true and complete a picture of life at Davis Polk as possible.
The firm believes that pro bono work is essential to our lawyers’ professional development and provides summer associates with the opportunity to work on a variety of pro bono assignments. In addition to myriad pro bono opportunities available within the firm, we offer interested summer associates paid two-week externships at several different public interest organizations within New York City.
