Mr. Perez-Marques is an associate in Davis Polk & Wardwell’s Litigation Department. Since joining Davis Polk in 2002, he has represented clients in a variety of white collar criminal, securities and general commercial litigation matters. Recent representations include a national retail chain in a criminal investigation of relationships with public officials, a leading audit firm in connection with investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission related to accounting for financial derivatives, and a major cable operator in a contract dispute.
Mr. Perez-Marques also has experience representing clients with significant international interests. He has recently represented a consumer products company in global investigations and reviews of compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, international trade sanctions, and anti-money laundering statutes; a European petroleum company in connection with a restatement of proven reserves; a French multinational in the development of a global compliance program; and a German pharmaceutical company in investigating the United States litigation exposure of a proposed acquisition. He has also delivered training on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act in English and Spanish to clients in Central and South America.
Mr. Perez-Marques graduated, magna cum laude, from Princeton University in 1999 and in 2002 received his J.D., cum laude, from New York University School of Law, where he was an Allen Scholar. While at NYU, Mr. Perez-Marques tried two criminal cases to conviction as a Student Assistant District Attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s Office. He is admitted to the bar of New York. He is a native speaker of Spanish.
