Mr. Azzopardi is an associate in Davis Polk & Wardwell’s Corporate Department and is assigned to the Mergers and Acquisitions Group. He joined Davis Polk in 2001. Mr. Azzopardi was previously an associate in the Intellectual Property and Technology Department at Australian firm Allens Arthur Robinson, from 1998 to 2001. He has extensive transactional experience overseeing intellectual property issues arising from corporate transactions, such as mergers, asset sales, reorganizations, spin-offs, licensing arrangements, joint ventures and other collaborations. His experience includes advising private equity, media, information technology, bio-pharmaceutical and other clients on a variety of intellectual matters, including patents, trade secrets, trademarks, copyright, mask works, domain names, rights of privacy, rights of personality and related common law rights. Mr. Azzopardi also has extensive litigation experience involving intellectual property disputes in the area of design patents, trademarks, copyright, cyber-squatting, passing off and personality merchandising.

Mr. Azzopardi graduated from the University of Melbourne in Australia and in 1997 received his Bachelor of Laws (Honors) and Bachelor of Commerce. He is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria, Australia, as well as being a Registered Australian Trademark Attorney. Mr. Azzopardi is also admitted to the bar of New York. He is conversant in Maltese.
