Mr. Weinstein is a member of Davis Polk & Wardwell’s Litigation Department. He represents corporations and individuals in complex commercial litigation, securities litigation and white collar criminal defense, and also advises clients on compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. His recent representations include a senior executive of a health care company in a grand jury investigation conducted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts; the New York Mets in litigation with MSG Networks concerning the formation of a new Mets-anchored regional sports network; Sterling Equities, the owner of the New York Mets, in litigation concerning the sale of a premier Manhattan office building; a prominent law firm in connection with threatened litigation by a former client and a concurrent SEC investigation; a major investment bank in connection with the SEC’s investigation of the auction rate securities market; and Delta Air Lines in litigation concerning its pilot pension plan.
Mr. Weinstein joined Davis Polk in 1998 and became a partner in 2005.
He graduated, summa cum laude, from Duke University in 1994, where he was an Angier B. Duke Memorial Scholar and a Faculty Scholar, and received his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1997, where he was an editor of the law review. He clerked for the Honorable José A. Cabranes, U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, from 1997 to 1998. Mr. Weinstein is admitted to the bar of New York and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
Mr. Weinstein is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, where he serves on the Committee on Pro Bono and Legal Services. He also served as deputy counsel to Chief Judge Kaye’s Commission on Drugs and the Courts.
