Ms. Cheng is counsel in Davis Polk & Wardwell’s Corporate Department, concentrating in advising clients on a wide range of environmental matters, with a particular focus on environmental and toxic tort analysis and contractual allocation in the context of transactions, advice on disclosure obligations and general advice relating to environmental claims, liabilities and corporate policies. She has represented companies and financial institutions, including Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, J.P. Morgan, Bank of America, Roche Holding and Jaccuzzi Brands, in numerous transactions involving mergers and acquisitions, real estate investments, securities offerings and bank lending transactions.
Ms. Cheng joined Davis Polk in 1986 and became counsel in 1996.
Ms. Cheng graduated, cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from New York University in 1983 and in 1986 received her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was the executive research editor of the Journal of International Law & Politics. She is admitted to the bar of New York.
She has written several articles relating to environmental liabilities in the context of financings and acquisitions. She is a member of the New York State and American Bar Associations.
