Mr. Dean, a member of Davis Polk & Wardwell’s Corporate Department, represents clients in public and private securities offerings, and advises on general corporate matters. His investment banking clients have included J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley. Corporate clients have ranged from BCE/Bell Canada, the largest Canadian communications company, to Modem Media.

He has extensive experience across the entire technology sector, and has worked on financings for hardware, software, networking, semiconductor, computer services and Internet companies. These financings have included offerings for America Online, Andrew Corporation, DuPont Photomasks, Hoovers Online, Keane, MetaSolv, Modem Media, Photronics, Priceline.com, Safeguard Scientifics, Silicon Laboratories, Vignette and WebMethods.

Mr. Dean is also experienced in financings for biotechnology and health care services businesses, including offerings for BioReliance, Chiron, Curaflex, Medimmune, Physio-Control, Quintiles, Regeneron and ViroPharma.

Mr. Dean joined Davis Polk in 1978 and became a partner in 1986. He graduated from Harvard College in 1973, was awarded an M.A. in Mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1974, and in 1978 received his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
