Ms. Dekhtyar Karczmer is an associate in Davis Polk & Wardwell’s Corporate Department and is assigned to the Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Group. Since joining Davis Polk in 1998, she has completed a rotation in the Derivatives Group, the Capital Markets Group, the Credit Group and the Mergers and Acquisitions Group. She advises clients on executive compensation and other employee benefit arrangements, with particular emphasis on issues arising in the contexts of merger and acquisition transactions. She also advises on employment and consulting arrangements, the applicability of federal securities and tax law to executives and employees and on general employment-related matters. The matters she has worked on recently have included acquisitions and investments by merchant banking funds, the acquisition of Multex.Com, Inc. by Reuters Group and executive compensation arrangements for Delta Air Lines.

Her pro bono practice is varied, including work in conjunction with the Elderly Law Project, a municipal bond refinancing for a non-profit organization and employment-related advice in connection with the merger of two non-profit neighborhood organizations.

Ms. Dekhtyar Karczmer graduated from Cornell University, School of Industrial and Labor Relations, in 1995 and in 1998 received her J.D. from Harvard Law School. She is admitted to the bar of New York.
