A member of Davis Polk & Wardwell’s Tax Department, Mr. Dimon advises clients on federal income tax matters in a variety of contexts, domestic and international, including financial product development and use of derivatives, tax planning for financial institutions, merchant banking and hedge fund organization and investments, equipment leasing, securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, bankruptcy reorganizations, workouts and tax audits.
Mr. Dimon joined Davis Polk in 1987 and became a partner in 1993.
Mr. Dimon graduated from Harvard College in 1975 and in 1985 received his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School. He clerked for the Honorable Byron R. White, U.S. Supreme Court, from 1985 to 1987.
In 2002, he served as chair of the New York State Bar Association Tax Section, and continues to serve as a member of the Section’s Executive Committee. He is a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel.
