Eugene C. Gregor


Mr. Gregor is a member of Davis Polk & Wardwell’s Corporate Department and is one of our two resident partners in the Tokyo office. He has worked on a wide range of securities transactions for U.S. and non-U.S. enterprises and governments, including privatizations and global equity offerings by Aozora Bank, Shinsei Bank, China Unicom, Korea Electric Power, China Steel of Taiwan and CVRD of Brazil. Mr. Gregor also advises on high-yield debt and leveraged finance transactions across the Asian region.

In addition to his capital markets practice, Mr. Gregor concentrates on cross-border private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, including significant recent matters involving Ajinomoto, Millea Holdings, Ripplewood, Cerberus and Nikko Cordial Securities.

Mr. Gregor joined Davis Polk in 1987 and became a partner in 1996. Over his 20 years at the firm, he has practiced in the New York office (7 years), the Hong Kong office (4 years) and the Tokyo office (9 years).

Mr. Gregor graduated from Stanford University in 1981 and in 1986 received his J.D. from Columbia Law School. He clerked for the Honorable Alfred T. Goodwin, U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, from 1986 to 1987. He is admitted to the bar of New York and qualified in Japan as a Foreign Special Member (Gaikokuho-Jimu-Bengoshi) of the Daiichi Tokyo Bar Association.
