Mr. Meade is an associate in Davis Polk & Wardwell’s Corporate Department and works in the London office. Since joining Davis Polk in 2001, he has developed a general corporate practice focused on complex cross-border transactions.

He has advised on cross-border equity and debt financings by SEC-registered, seasoned issuers in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia such as AngloGold Ashanti, Bell Canada Enterprises, The Chubb Corporation, Diageo, Imperial Chemical Industries and Lockheed Martin. He has also advised on the IPOs of Neste Oil Corporation of Finland in 2005, Reliance Petroleum Limited and Cairn India Limited of India in 2006, and the IPO and New York Stock Exchange listing of Cellcom Israel Ltd in 2007. Mr. Meade has also advised on complex financings in the private equity sphere, including the IPO and listing on the SWX of Dufry AG by Advent International in 2005 and the high-yield offerings by NXP (formerly the semiconductors business of Koninklijke Philips Electronics NV) in connection with its sale to Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co, Silver Lake, AlpInvest, Apax and Bain Capital in 2006.

Mr. Meade also advises European companies on general corporate activities, including cross-border M&A activities. In 2007, he advised ABN AMRO on its proposed merger with Barclays and in connection with the subsequent offer by the consortium RBS, Santander and Fortis. He has worked extensively in the health care sector, where his matters have included advising Shire plc in connection with its acquisitions of New River Pharmaceuticals and Transkaryotic Therapies, Inc., and Novo Nordisk in connection with a number of its licensing and development arrangements.

He also advises European corporations on corporate governance, SEC reporting and general corporate matters.

Mr. Meade received his B.C.L., with first class honors, from University College, Cork, Ireland, in 1996, where he was a college scholar, and in 1997 received his LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, where he was a Rotary Foundation Scholar. In 2001, he received his B.C.L. in European and comparative law, with distinction, from the University of Oxford, where he was a British Government Chevening Scholar and the recipient of the Sir Roy Goode Prize. He is admitted to the bar of New York. Mr. Meade is also admitted as a solicitor (non-practicing) of the Supreme Court of England and Wales and a solicitor (non-practicing) of the Courts of Ireland.

Before joining Davis Polk, he worked at McCann FitzGerald, Dublin, from 1997 to 2000.
