Ms. Kopke is an associate in Davis Polk & Wardwell’s Corporate Department and is assigned to the Credit Group. Since joining Davis Polk in 2007, she has completed a rotation in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group and the Capital Markets Group.
In 2004, Ms. Kopke graduated from the University of Cape Town receiving her B.Bus.Sci., cum laude with distinction in law and class medals in Comparative Legal History and Property Law. In 2006, she received her LL.B., cum laude, with class medals in Administrative Law and Environmental Law, and the Public Law Prize, also from the University of Cape Town. Ms. Kopke won the South African round and represented South Africa in the 2005 Jessup International Moot Court Competition. In the beginning of 2007, she worked as a tutor and lecturer at the University of Cape Town Faculty of Law. She is admitted to the bar of New York and is fluent in Afrikaans.
Ms. Kopke is the author of “Corporate responsibility redefined: Corporate liability for international crimes,” Responsa Meridiana (2006) and the co-author of “Society of Lloyd’s v. Price: Characterization and ‘Gap’ in the Conflict of Laws,” The South African Law Journal, vol. 125 (Issue 1), pp. 62-70.
