Mr. Davis is a member of Davis Polk & Wardwell’s Corporate Department, practicing in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group. The matters he has worked on recently include advising E*Trade on its sale of a portfolio of asset-backed securities to Citadel and in connection with Citadel’s $2.55 billion investment in E*Trade; Thomas & Betts on its acquisition of Lamson & Sessions; IPSCO in connection with its sale to SSAB Svenskt Stål; Marsh & McLennan in connection with the sale of Putnam Investments to Great-West Lifeco; IPSCO on its acquisition of NS Group; FrontPoint Partners on its sale to Morgan Stanley; MCI on its sale to Verizon; Ford on its acquisition of plants from, and the restructuring of its business relationship with, Visteon; Morgan Stanley on its acquisition of Lend Lease’s U.S. real estate investment advisory business; and various other private equity and venture capital transactions.
He joined Davis Polk in 1999 and became a partner in 2007.
Mr. Davis received an LL.B. from Tokyo University in 1996 and in 1997 received an LL.B., with first class honors, from Sydney University, where he was awarded the University Medal. In 1999 he received his LL.M. from Harvard Law School. He is admitted to the bars of New York, England and Wales and New South Wales.
