Mr. Murdock is an associate in Davis Polk & Wardwell’s Corporate Department and works in the Tokyo office. Since joining Davis Polk in 2004, he has advised issuers and underwriters on a variety of capital markets transactions, including hybrid, high-yield debt, subordinated debt and equity offerings. He has worked on offerings by Advance Agro, AIFUL, ORIX, Promise, Ranhill Berhad, Republic Companies Group and Shinsei Bank. In addition to these capital markets transactions, Mr. Murdock has advised on credit and mergers and acquisitions transactions and the formation of a hedge fund and investment manager. He has advised Nikko Cordial Corporation in connection with tender offer and share exchange transactions by Citigroup for a controlling stake in Nikko.

Mr. Murdock graduated from Stanford University in 1995 and in 1996 received his M.S. from Stanford University. In 2004 he received his J.D., with honors, Order of the Coif, from the University of Washington School of Law, where he was an articles editor of the Washington Law Review. He is admitted to the bar of New York. He is conversant in Thai and proficient in Japanese. Before joining Davis Polk, Mr. Murdock was a project engineer for Camp Dresser & McKee Inc. USA from 1996 to 2001.
