Mr. Sandler is co-head of Davis Polk’s global Capital Markets Group. He has extensive experience advising on corporate governance matters, securities regulatory matters and all aspects of public and private securities offerings, including initial public offerings, high-yield debt securities, derivatives, venture capital and leveraged investments, spinoffs, restructurings, exchange offers and new financial products.

Mr. Sandler has represented Aetna, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, IHS Inc. (a company controlled by the Thyssen family), Montpelier Re, Morgan Stanley and PartnerRe, as well as representing other corporate and investment banking clients on domestic and international matters and transactions.

He joined Davis Polk in 1972 and became a partner in 1979. He practiced in the Paris office from 1982 to 1985.

Mr. Sandler graduated from Princeton University in 1969 and in 1972 received his J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
